The Canal Cycle Ride
20 May 2012
Glasgow to Edinburgh
Take your bike out!
Enjoy the beautiful tow paths along the canals from Glasgow to Edinburgh!
Support Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland!
This 50-mile traffic-free ride is suitable for all ages and for all abilities who want to get or keep fit while enjoying the heavenly scenery through Forth & Clyde Canal and Union Canal. If 50-mile is too much for you, you can join us for Glasgow-Falkirk or Falkirk-Edinburgh routes; each is only a 25-mile.
Cycling is a fun way of getting fit, seeing the places that you have never been, and supporting those who are affected by chest, heart or stroke illness. No matter if you do it individually, but it is more fun with family and friends.
Don’t worry about the details! CHSS will be providing transport to allow you to leave your car at either of the two cycle ride finishing points (Falkirk or Edinburgh depending on your preference) and then be transported with your bikes to the start of the route. In this way you can take as much time as you need for the cycle ride, knowing your car is waiting for you at the finish.
This fun is free of charge for all participants, but part of the challenge is to raise sponsorship to support CHSS. Please visit CHSS or call 0845 450 2000 for details.

The Roadblock Run - formerly Urbanathlon Scotland
Sunday 23 September 2012
Arthur Seat, Edinburgh
The RoadBlock Run (Previously known as Urbanathlon)
The RoadBlock Run will be the same layout as our previous Urbanathlon Scotland runs with our usual fun obstacles for you to jump, slide, crawl and laugh your way over, however, look out for a new twist in keeping with our new name...!
We are also keeping our team categories (more info on the website) and prizes for fastest male and female, fastest teams and the all important best fancy dress!
Last year the runs in Glasgow and Edinburgh raised over £40,000 in total, helping us to sustain and grow our research, advice and support services for those affected by chest, heart and stroke illness. This year to ensure that we help maximise the funds that we raise and minimise ever increasing costs we have taken the decision to only hold the RoadBlock Run in one location each year on the basis that many people travel between the two cities anyway and we hope therefore to make one run even bigger and better.
We have not abandoned Glasgow though and are considering a return to the city in 2013; thereby providing a new challenge year on year for our regular runners.
